Why I am writing this? I am actually writing this for myself and not with the view that it will be of interest to anybody else.
I am creating this as a diary of my investing life and as a repository for all the stuff I come across on the web and in “print”.
Additionally I believe it will be as good a place as any to record why I purchased, held and sold a particular stock and by baring my investing soul keep me honest.
For certain I a not writing this with any expectations that anybody will read it but by making it available for others to read I believe it will prevent me from being dishonest with myself!
My investing life dates, in reality, from late 2008 when I inherited a small amount of money from my mother. This is when I could be an investor in anger but I have been interested in stocks, business and investing since my mid twenties.
I dabbled in penny shares in the 80’s but for the next two decades I was too broke to do anything but look from the sidelines. My business keeps me too busy to spend as much time on investing as I would like, so I am still learning and finding myself but it is fun and having started in a period of rising markets I haven’t lost money!
A short bit about myself. I am in my 50’s, married with an 10 year old son and live in Meribel and Herefordshire.
PLEASE NOTE MANY OF THE POSTS WERE WRITTEN WELL AFTER THE EVENT. SO SOME OF THE COMMENTARY IS THIN ON THE GROUND BUT WILL BE ALL THAT I CAN REMEMBER ABOUT MY REASONS FOR BUYING OR SELLING A STOCK.
THOSE DATED MORE CURRENTLY WILL HAVE MORE CONTENT AND MORE MEANING, I hope!
